Earlier this month, a report revealed that Paris Saint-Germain are one of the clubs vying to land Palmeiras’ Estevão Willian. The latest standout from South America is drawing the attention of several clubs, with Chelsea looking to improve their bid.

Palmeiras are anticipating to receive the net value of the release clause, which stands at €45 million. This implies that any interested clubs will need to cover the taxes associated with the deal, ultimately bringing the total fee to approximately €55 million.

Nonetheless, the Blues could be prepared to exceed that amount to ensure they win the sweepstakes for the young Brazilian.

According to transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is planning to make a bid for Willian that exceeds his €55 million release clause.

The Premier League club aims to negotiate for better payment terms and secure over 40 percent of the potential final fee through add-ons. This strategy mirrors Chelsea’s approach last summer when dealing with Nico Jackson’s release clause.

It will be interesting to see if this is enough to win land Willian this summer or if another club swoops in.
